Undara to Karumba

After a great 2 day stay at Undara we once again hit the Road and stopped at George Town to see the sights and especially the interesting chimney stack:
Cumberland Chimney Stack and Dam
this was used for heating the furnace that extracted Zinc etc. then stayed in a free camp Gilbert river for the night, nice camp area but dusty (Bull Dust), we climbed down a steep embankment it was worth the refreshing paddle in the water.

Next morning of to Normanton we stopped at a few places in between and had the
Biggest Morning tea at Croydon
We drove to Lake Belmore this lake is enormous and used for water sport, there is a great display of the Police Station and Jail, as it used to be in the 1800rds, visited the remnants of the Chinese Temple and its township.

Normanton dispite its name is a small town with little facilities so we decided to go on to Karumba and a good decision, we first tried the Sunset CP what a bunch of unfriendly owners, won't go into why, but booked into Kurumba point CP for 4 nights and ended up staying for 10 days.

Had a great time with the friendliest people,
the Park put on various things to do, like on the Saturday evening they cook Burramandi free dinner for all tenants with a local show afterwards, what a laught.

Where our van is the group of people who come here every year and they asked us to join in all their activities, great time Bianka learned and played a game of trains its like Dominos.

Fishing is the thing to do here, every one has boats, but beach fishing is good also

many a fish is caught here and even though I only caught 1 for the period, While we were here it was great fun,
one night this week we went for fish and chips at Ash's and a beer to see the Sunset and it was beautifull what with the sun going down and warm weather.
Visited the Barramundi Farm where they breed them to release in various waterways what a great insight we even got to hand feed them they almost chop of your fingers, so fast and loud they are when they take the bait .

Friday we went to the Rodeo at Normanton

Entry was $2.- a person for Bianka and I, they also had the annual show which equates to 1% the size of the Melbourne Royal show, siting there watching the Camp Drafting belive me or not but they had approx 275 competitors for this event, and the dust boy did the car get dirty, but it was a great day.

As you can see the crocodile
in Normanton chopped off Bianka's head and feasted on me, just as well it's not real.

Water Lilys and Brolgas on the road outside of Normanton

Today an easy day and it will be hard to leave here tomorow but we are of to Lawn hill.
