Litchfield National Park, Douglas Daly, Lake Argyle and Kununurra.
Hi once more from us here in the north.
Leaving Barry Springs early after a 3 day stay we arrived early in Batchlor, while visiting the Information office Bianka got attacked by a dog and we spent an hour at the surgery for a tetanus shot, just to be safe and she is OK, Lyn and Errol the friends we are traveling with went ahead to get a camp site at Wangi Falls
which we decided to make our base, for the next three days.
Wangi Park what a great place to visit the afternoon was swimming
and more swimming, walked the trek over the top of the falls.
Next day Sandy Creek falls
Blyth Homestead
Tomler Falls
Florence Falls
and Bouley Rock pools
swam all of them with the final swim at Wangi Falls, we all were totally water logged but it was great.
Sunday Bianka and I travelled to Green Ant Creek, Walker Creek, saw the Magnetic Termite Mounts and fields
Bamboo Creek and the Tin Mine and again finished the day with Wangi Falls Swim.
Monday we travelled to Daly River
and stayed at the Mango Farm CP what a rip off, reason was we wanted to go Buramundi fishing price for the fishing trip agreed on, only to have it reneaked on us at the last minute then no water from the taps so we used our aircon to its full cappacity so there, would not recommend this park again.
Next day travelled on to Dougless Daly Hot Springs free camp
and again swam for most of the afternoon boy was it nice,
finished up the day with a roaring camp fire
and some nice Pineapple fritters made by the Ladies.
Next day we checked out the Douglas Daly CP Lyn and Errol decided to stay a few nights here and would catch up with us later, We headed of to Kathrine and did shopping as we were pretty far down on supplies moved on late afternoon to Vince Connely Creek freecamp overnight and a again next night at Saddle Creek freecamp
before crossing the WA border and going into Lake Argyle CP
for two nights.
What an exspance of water (52 times Sydney Harbour) just for irrigation in Kununurra if this amount of water was in Melbourne there would be no shortage for years to come, this expance of water is held back by the smallest dam
I have ever seen, here it was lookout after lookout and a visit to the Durack homestead which had been saved and moved here prior to the lake filling.
Sunday we moved on to Kununarra
for a weeks stay at the Kimberly Land CP.
Our van with the 2000 year old Boab tree
Shopping for Vegetables on Monday as we could not bring any with us from the East it gets taken of you at the border and they are pretty strict too.
The weatrer seems to be getting hotter as we are having 32+degrees lately so late afternoon we were in the pool again yes swimming.
Tuesday the local sights i.e. the Zebra rocks Shop where we fed the fish (catfish), the Diversion Dam, Kelly's Knob lookout, Hoochery distilery and had a knibble af rum nice and the Ivanhoe crossing

and as you can see Bianka and I crossed it.
Wednesday we went into ElQuestro, what a ride in along the Gibb River road, I am glad to say the car survived in and out
spent the day there, walked into Emma Gorge
and ofcourse swam in the gorge. was realy nice but cold with a small hot spring to the side, water from the falls was great and with the added effect of it feeling like there was rain coming down as well.
Zebedee Hot Springs
with its palms how beutifull and an hour there was great, just lazing in the tepid water, than to ElQuestro town ship for a nice lunch and a walk, got back approx 4.30 pm
Thursday I rigged my rod for Burra fishing and with great anticipation (somebody had caught one here) we went to Ivanhoe Crossing but after a hour or so same as usual no bites I guess better luck next time.
Friday It was a drive for the day to Wyndham

and to see the 5 rivers from the look out
what a view one should never pass an opportunity like this the Ord, Pentogost, King, Forrest and Durack rivers enter the Cambrigde Gulf.
We visited the Warriu Dreantime park
with its Aboriginal and Australian animal statues, visited Perrys Lagoon
with thousands of birds
and lunch in the Wyndham park made this a great day.
Saterday was a quiet day we only visited the Mini Bungle Bungles
here in Kunnunarra, that night I was invited to go fishing with Geoff a resident in the park and his aboriginal mate also a resident here.
So Sunday morning 4 am we headed for the Pentergast river the spot as it turned out was 60 Km past ElQuestro on the Gibb River road and some of the roughest road I have ever seen and the photo shows we did a tyre.
approx 100Km in from Kunnunarra due to poor tooling we ended up removing the Bumper and all, but once fixed we got to the spot and fished and I can truly say it was the best day of my life as we cought 7 Burrimundy with us having to throw 2 back in as they where under size.
I happen to catch 3
2 under size but the one I kept was 63 Cm
long and what a fight and thrill.

Monday Tuesday relax and more relax and stock up day on Tuesday as we leave here and head for the Bungles Bungles and tenting this time.
So till then have a great day, I had mine on Sunday
